Byggherrarna is an interest group for professional building owners. The organization's mission is to strengthen and gather building owners in Sweden for a stronger building owner function, both towards the outside world and towards the building owner function's companies/owners. By safeguarding the interests of building owners, Byggherrarna contributes to the further development of a well-functioning and competitive construction market. Byggherrarna works to strengthen and develop the building owner role. The organization was founded in the 1960s (with the name Byggherreföreningen and later ByggherreForum) to protect the interests of building owners in Sweden. With its approximately 120 members in industry and commerce, municipalities and county councils, government agencies and companies, and real estate companies, Byggherrarna represents the majority of clients for Swedish construction today. The practical work for the members is carried out by Byggherrarna Sverige AB (the service company), which is owned by Byggherrarna.
